π Sharing your map settings
As a MapChart Plus user, you can generate a unique, shareable link for your saved map.
Anyone with the link (Plus user or not) can then use it to instantly load your map's settings and continue editing it or just check it out.
Creating a link to share
This only works for maps that you have already saved to My Maps:
- While editing your map, hit the Share button at the left edge of the map.
- A link will be generated and this map configuration will be made publicly available. π
- Copy the link and send it to anyone you want.
Using a link to load a map
Anyone with the link can use it to load the map configuration you shared.
When they visit it, the map settings will be instantly loaded on the map.
They will be able to see only the name of the map configuration and when it was last modified. They won't see your username, details, or any other private information.
Example share links
To see how this works for the other user, try opening any of the below shared map links (all shared by me!)
- A world map of landlocked and coastal subdivisions πΊ
- A map of Europe showing the ring finger preference for each country π
- A US states map displaying the most popular female baby name for each state in 2019 πΆ
The link will always point to the latest version of the map. So, if you update your saved map, anyone visiting the link will also see the updated version.
